Fine arts Photographer Timothy Jones

Mobile Arts Council is pleased to present Timothy Jones in our Members’ Mini MAC Gallery this quarter.


Timothy Jones is a Daphne-based portrait and fine art photographer whose work explores place, perspective, and human presence. Rooted in the Gulf Coast, his photography reflects a deep appreciation for architecture, landscape, and the quiet character of familiar environments. His images of Washington, DC monuments examine scale, history, and stillness, while his New York work and his international work from Thailand expands his visual language through portraiture, architecture, and cultural storytelling.


Working from a powered wheelchair due to neuropathy and immune-related challenges, Jones approaches photography with patience and intentionality, allowing moments to reveal themselves rather than be forced. This lived experience informs both his creative process and his advocacy for greater accessibility within the arts. Whether photographing people or place, he seeks to create images that invite viewers to slow down, observe closely, and recognize resilience, dignity, and beauty in both the monumental and the everyday.

The Vault at Vets Recover

The Mobile Arts Council (MAC) is proud to partner with Vets Recover to offer a special residency opportunity for our members. This six-month rotating exhibition will provide artists the chance to display their work in a public space that supports the healing and recovery of veterans. The Vault at Vets Recover satellite gallery is open for public visits at 1200 SpringHill Avenue. This quarterly residency features fine art photographers, Jennifer and Hailey Clifton. Their exhibit shares radiant work capturing Mobile landscapes and landmarks. In addition, artist Bob Halcombe is exhibiting stunning oil on velour works depicting familiar military aircraft.

Preview at the Portal at Innovation Portal

The Preview at the Portal in partnership with Innovation Portal at 358 St Louis Street is a rotating exhibition offering an advance look at works scheduled for upcoming shows. Featured in the Main Space is artists Ben Kaiser and Vanessa Quintana, presenting a selection from their October 2026 exhibition, "Cottage Core." All displayed works are available for early purchase through Mobile Arts Council and will remain on view through the close of the October show at the MAC Gallery. 


On display down the hall is local artist JENYES, featuring pieces from their upcoming Solo Exhibiton, Cheers To The Culture- a celebration if Black culture, Black expression, and the beauty found within everyday moments.

Atelier Alley at Love and Adventures Studios

In partnership with Love and Adventures Studios at The Frenchman, Atelier Alley provides a corridor gallery between the business spaces at 222 and 224 Dauphin Street. The inaugural exhibition features Katie Thompson, whose work includes portraits, animal subjects, and large-scale abstracts.

Mobile Arts Council & Spring Hill College - Artist Residency Application

The Mobile Arts Council and Spring Hill College are pleased to offer a 12-month Artist Residency Program located in the Murphy Fine Arts Building on the campus of Spring Hill College. This residency supports artists by providing dedicated studio space, opportunities for community engagement, and professional promotion. The selected artist will have 24-hour access to a private studio space and the opportunity to create a body of work during their residency that will culminate in a one-month exhibition in the professional gallery space located below the studio. Mobile Arts Council will promote the artist and their residency through its website, social media platforms, press releases, and local media opportunities, including live news interviews. The artist chosen will be asked to lead at least two paid workshops in conjunction with their residency time.


The deadline to submit this application is Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.
