Mobile Arts Council is proud to announce a drumming workshop in celebration of International Drum Month!

This free member workshop is open to all ages and will be led by professional drummers, LaDarrel Bell of Excelsior Band, and Wayne Curtis of Mobile Alabama Africatown Drummers. Attendees will learn a bit of local history behind drumming and make their own drum out of recycled materials. The workshop will be held at Spring Hill College in the Murphy Fine Arts Building on Saturday, May 2nd, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

We are grateful to our sponsor, Alabama Folklife Association, for their continued support of our workshops that focus on carrying out local tradition.

If you’d like to attend, please RSVP HERE!
