May Artist Member of the Month

Congratulations to our May Artist Member of the Month, Marshall OHern !

If you’ve ever walked through our ArtWalk vendor market area on Dauphin Street, you’ve likely met the ray of sunshine that is Marshall OHern. He has been a vendor with us for many years, bringing his talent and joyful nature to the people. Mobile Arts Council is so proud to have such talented and wonderful artists populating our vendor area each ArtWalk. They represent so much of what makes ArtWalk special.

When asked about his work, Marshall says, “I have been a professional graphic artist for a LONG time, but in the last several years I have enjoyed getting out and doing arts markets and being less conventional. I have discovered at events like ArtWalk, I am much less of an introvert than I thought I was! Talking to vendors and customers makes me feel young and energetic! I enjoy taking old things and creating art on them to make something new. I take old records and make psychedelic art on them or baseballs and book pages and use pen and ink on them. I also enjoy wood carving when I can.”
