Teen Sneaker Lab: Custom Kicks & Concept Design with Dr. Zerric Clinton

Join Dr. Zerric Clinton for an intensive Sneaker Lab where your personal story meets street style. Dr. Clinton will showcase his own custom gallery—from music-inspired designs to artistic tributes—to show you how to movefrom a basic sketch to a professional-grade custom. The instructor will share examples of actual sneakers that are designed with items that have significant meaning to him and share his process with the students. Next, students will have an opportunity to create a list of things that have meaning to them and consider how they could incorporate their topics on their sneakers. The instructor will share his examples of the concept of sneakerhedz on pairs of sneaker that he has decorated that have musical and artistic themes. Next, student will begin the process of creating unique designs and symbols on their chosen pair of sneakers. Students will continue to push boundaries by incorporating various color combinations and symbolic imagery on their sneakers. Student success will be evaluated based on the individual uniqueness that they exhibit through their expressive creations. Important Details for Creators: BYO-Kicks: Participants must bring their own pair of sneakers to customize (white or light-colored leather/canvas works best!).
