The Mobile Arts Council is proud to announce the inaugural MobTown Mural Festival, presented by Downtown Mobile Alliance, a two-day celebration of public art that will bring local artists together to create vibrant new murals. We invite the public to watch live mural paintings on both walls throughout Downtown Mobile as well as five dimensional 4’x4’ cubes located throughout Cooper Riverside Park on September 12–13, 2026.

As Mobile's first large-scale mural festival, the event will transform walls, public spaces, and unexpected locations into dynamic works of art, creating a lasting visual legacy while showcasing the city's growing creative community. The festival will feature a curated roster of artists selected for their creativity, technical skill, and ability to create site-specific works that reflect the culture, history, and spirit of Mobile. Throughout the weekend, residents and visitors will have the opportunity to watch artists at work, meet muralists, and explore Mobile through a new artistic lens.

While you enjoy the Muralist in Cooper Riverside Park, live music and food trucks will be provided all day along the riverfront in celebration of The National Maritime Museum of the Gulf's weekend opening of The Jimmy Buffett: Son of a Son of a Sailor Experience.
The weekend features an unveiling of the new larger-than-life bronze sculpture by Ben Victor on the waterfront at the museum, Mac McAnally and Scottie Emerick performing “Margaritas and Memories” at the Saenger Theatre on September 11, and more.
