For generations, the Gulf Coast has been defined not only by its natural resources and commerce but by its cuisine, its music, its architecture and its art. As one of the few remaining local arts agencies still intact along the Gulf Coast, the Mobile Arts Council is ready and willing to assume its part in sustaining, rebuilding and growing the cultural life of the community we serve. Today, we find ourselves with a unique opportunity to return Mobile to a vibrant center of commerce and culture. In order to make this happen, we need your help.
ALL of us have been affected by the series of storms that have ravaged the Gulf Coast. ALL of us have responded to the growing list of needs through contributions in terms of time, emotional support, tangible items and money. We understand only too well the basic needs of food, shelter, medicine and clothing. But the well-being of ALL of us depends upon nurturing the spirit, as well. The arts sustain us; they lift our spirits and inspire hope.
By contributing to the Mobile Arts Council, you are promoting the idea that art, in all of its forms, is important to our community and that art should be accessible to all people.
Your financial support will enable MAC to continue serving our community and to provide critical assistance to arts organizations and individual artists in four main areas: Information, Marketing and Promotions, Arts in Education, and Grants Making.
