Artist Statement:
Art can, for many, become far more than just aesthetics. For nearly 20 years, I have maintained a research background in the area of religious symbology and iconography and its role in ancient theologies. Through my research into the more esoteric aspects of religion, I find that there exists the application of a formulaic gematria, a sacred geometrical pattern encoded within some religious art and architecture. Directly influenced by this research, much of my own artwork reflects this concept.
Description of Work:
The majority of my work is in the realism style. I mostly work with graphite illustrations. I do, however, enjoy sculpting in plaster and synthetic clay. As a semi-professional photographer, I have worked with several great models, but I also enjoy outdoor photography and often combine the two. My paintings (oil & acrylic), however few, are mostly by special commissions.
